Closing A Chapter
With our episodes turning 50! Here comes season 04 of happychirp to an end.
4 min read
This one is just me. After 50 episodes, season four of Happy Chirp has come to an end, and I’m sitting here feeling a quiet kind of proud. It wasn’t easy, but I showed up, and that alone feels like a win. I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what this season gave me, what it took, and why I’m ending this year happier than I started it.
The season that healed me
I didn’t plan for loss to be a recurring theme this season, but it was. We talked about it again and again, and somewhere in those conversations, something shifted inside me. A friend recently pointed out that maybe I’ve healed from my own grief because I talk about loss so much on the podcast. I sat with that and realized she was right. “I feel like I’ve healed from it in a substantial way,” I told her. There’s something about sitting with people who share their stories of loss, about grieving together, that mends parts of you you didn’t know were still broken. This platform became a space where I could heal out loud, and I’m so grateful for that.
What success really looks like
If you asked me whether this podcast is successful, I’d say yes. Not because of views or subscribers or money, but because of impact. “Success has always been about impact, about influence, about positive impact and value.” Even if only two or three people are watching, if it touches them in a positive way, that’s success for me. Of course I need to make this sustainable eventually, but that’s a need, not the goal. The goal is to create something that matters, and I feel like I’ve done that. This season, I showed up even when it was incredibly hard, and that consistency is its own kind of success.
The themes that mattered
We covered so much ground this season. Therapy, reproductive health, entrepreneurship, self-esteem, boundaries, motherhood, relationships. We talked about women carving their own paths despite family restrictions, cultural pressure, and limited access. We talked about the quiet strength it takes to fight for your independence. One thing I noticed, though, is that episodes on relationships and motherhood always get the most clicks. I love that women are engaging with those topics, but I also hope we can open our minds a little wider. “I hope to see more clicks on topics that are not just marriage and motherhood and parenthood.” Women are more than wives and mothers. We deserve to learn and grow for ourselves, not just for the roles we play.
The team behind the mic
I couldn’t have done this alone. My team pushed me, supported me, and honestly, just knowing they were counting on me made me show up on days I wanted to disappear. People have come and gone, the team has shifted, but we kept going. “I couldn’t have done it without them.” There’s a pressure in being the face of something, but their belief in this work kept me anchored. I’m so proud of what we built together.
A note on what we don’t click
I get it. Relationships and parenting feel immediate and relatable. But I want to gently invite you to explore the other conversations too. The ones about career struggles, workplace ethics, reproductive health, or just figuring out who you are outside of everyone else’s expectations. Those episodes are just as rich, just as necessary. I created this platform to highlight women’s strength, not just their struggles. I don’t want to propagate a victim mindset. I want to show you what’s possible when women take their power back.
Looking ahead
I’m taking a short break to reflect, and I hope you do too. This year was one of the hardest of my life, but as it ends, I can honestly say I’m happy. “If I’m coming out of it happier and at peace, I think that’s a big one.” Not just stronger, but genuinely lighter. I hope you can look back at your year with kindness, see the lessons in the mistakes, and feel proud of how far you’ve come. I’ll see you when we’re back, Allah Hafiz.
